Job summary
The post holder role is to activity motivate and engage patients and helps them to engage in physical activities and sports, with the support and guidance of senior staff. To build rapport with patients who struggle to engage in activities and be open to learning new skills. To support planned Health and Fitness patient programmes. Part of the role is to take an active part in safety procedures, such as daily searches of patients and the environment, preparation work for sessions, undertaking patient observations, escorting patients and helping with the management of patient incompatibilities.
Key Result Areas & Performance:
1. The Health and Fitness Assistant role is about to supports Health and Fitness department planned sessions in a variety of different environments, including the Gym, Sports Hall, 4G and studio area.
2. The post holder will be a resource for the team and actively engage in a minimum of 90% of patient sessions.
3. The post holder will make accurate and professional notes in patients Rio record regularly and in an acceptable time scale.
4. To support senior staff implement new ideas for patient sessions and activities that encourage patients’ to encourage in a fun activity which improves their health.
5. The post hold will complete patient activity date after each session, 100% patient update reports are completed in a comprehensive and meaningful format and patients’ achievement and challenges are recorded professionally.
6. The post holder will take joint responsibility in complete the daily, weekly and quarterly environmental checks and all safety and security procedures are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
7. To check equipment used in activity sessions is in good working order prior to use by staff or patients and any faults are reported to the manager and estates and facilities.
